Air Force to Open 2019 Campaign on Saturday

The Falcons will host the Air Force Open at Monument Valley Park, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (MT).
The Air Force cross country team, which includes the 27th-ranked men and the 29th-ranked women, kicks off the 2019 campaign this weekend, when it hosts the Air Force Open on Saturday, Aug. 31. The meet, which will take place at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs, is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. (MT).
MEET INFORMATION
The Air Force Open will take place near the north end playground area at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs. The men's four-mile race will begin at 8:30 a.m., while the women's three-mile event is slated to begin 30 minutes later.
DIRECTIONS
Spectators driving from the Academy to the MVP north end playground area (1794-1818 Culebra Ave, Colorado Spring, CO 80907) should take I-25 south to Fillmore Street (exit 145). After exiting the interstate, turn left onto W. Fillmore Street, right onto N. Cascade Ave, and right onto E. Fontenaro Street. Parking is located along Fontenaro Street and the north playground area is located down the hill.
BOTH SQUADS RANKED IN USTFCCCA PRESEASON COACHES POLL
For the first time in Academy history, both the men's and women's cross country teams were ranked in the USTFCCCA Division I National Preseason Coaches' Poll. The men earned a No. 27 mark in the first rankings of the 2019 season, while the women matched their highest preseason tally at No. 29.
SENIOR SALUTE
The Falcons are led by seven seniors during the 2019 season, including Lindsey Blanks, Teri Brady, Michael Rhoads, Swathi Samuel, Patrick Sullivan, Justin Weber and Marshall Wheeler.
