Men’s Tennis Holds 10th Annual Blue-Silver Event

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force men's tennis team held its 10th annual Blue-Silver practice event on Thursday, August 29, in conjunction with Parent's Weekend activities. The freshmen class had a strong showing, with three singles and two doubles wins.

The Blue team consisted of four freshmen and the Silver team consisted of four returning upperclassmen. The Blue team won both of the doubles matches and three of four singles matches for a 4-1 victory.

In doubles play, the duo of Morgan Ihrig and Jonathan Mascagni downed Paul Hendrix and Robert Baylon 7-6 (3). Denali Kitayama and Justin Waldman then defeated Mack Galvin and Jordan Azuma 6-3.

In singles play, Ihrig defeated Baylon 7-6 (6), 7-5. Hendrix earned the lone upperclassmen win, downing Mascagni 6-1, 6-2.

Kitayama then defeated Galvin 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (5). Waldman then downed Azuma 6-3, 7-5.

Air Force opens the season on Sept. 27-29, hosting the ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains.
