Air Force Runners Head to Bill Dellinger Invitational

Nine women and 11 men will compete in Oregon on Saturday, Sept. 28.
The Air Force cross country team, which includes the 27th-ranked men's squad, returns to action this Saturday (Sept. 28), when it travels to Springfield, Ore., for the annual Bill Dellinger Invitational. The men's 8K race will kick off the day at 10:30 a.m., while the women's 6K event will follow at 11:30 a.m. (PT).
MEET INFORMATION
The Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon, will take place at Pine Ridge Golf Club (formerly Springfield Golf Club at 90333 Sunderman Road). Spectator parking is located at the Willamette Leadership Academy (Mohawk School) at 91166 Sunderman Road, with a shuttle transporting people to the main Pine Ridge clubhouse. Live results will be available via Athletic Timing (a direct link is available on the Falcons' schedule page).
PARTICIPATING TEAMS
Air Force is one of 15 teams competing at the Bill Dellinger Invitational – and one of six men's squads currently ranked among the nation's Top 30. The full men's field includes No. 2 BYU, No. 7 Portland, No. 11 Oregon, No. 24 UCLA, No. 27 Air Force and No. 29 Villanova, as well as three squads – Boise State, Furman, Texas – that are receiving votes in the latest poll and additional teams from Idaho, Santa Clara, UC Davis, Washington State and Wichita State. The women's overall field includes No. 6 BYU, No. 9 Oregon, No. 13 Boise State, No. 15 Furman and No. 27 UCLA, three schools – Air Force, Oregon State, Texas – that are receiving votes, and squads from Idaho, Portland, UC Davis, Washington State and Wichita State.

The Falcons will send 11 men and nine women to this weekend's meet in Oregon. The men's lineup includes Hunter Boyer, Colin Dwyer, Sam Gilman, Ryan Johnson, Scott Johnson, Will Kitzhaber, Alec Schrank, Konrad Steck, Patrick Sullivan, Justin Weber and Joe Wittig, while the women's roster features Andi Almodovar, Lindsey Blanks, Teri Brady, Sarah Deresky, Maddie Edwards, Mikayla Gallagher, Jenna Kill, Mahala Norris and Swathi Samuel.
CREATING A NEW PATH
This will mark the first time Air Force has competed at the Bill Dellinger Invitational.
MEN RETURN TO NO. 27 IN NATIONAL POLL
The men returned to No. 27 in the USTFCCCA national rankings on Sept. 24. That ranking marks the 15th-straight week that the Falcons have been listed among the nation's top 30 – a streak dating back to the 2017 season. The women continue to receive votes in the latest poll and are currently 20 points out of the top 30.
THE NEXT COURSE
Air Force returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 12, when select members of the team travel to Hays, Kan., for the annual Fort Hays State Tiger Open.
