Air Force Men’s Tennis Completes Day One Of ITA Bedford Cup

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis completed day one hosting the 2019 ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains on Friday, at the Air Force Outdoor Intercollegiate Tennis Courts. The Falcons had a strong first day, going 10-3 in singles and 5-2 in doubles.

In singles, all four Falcons in the Blue Draw advanced to the quarterfinals, combining to go 7-0. Paul Hendrix, Jonathan Mascagni and Mack Galvin went 2-0 and Patrick Sklenka won his round of 32 match.

In the Silver draw, Morgan Ihrig advanced to the quarterfinals by going 2-0. Denali Kitayama won his first match before falling in the round of 16.

Jordan Azuma and Justin Waldman made it to the consolation semifinals. Azuma earned a consolation wind while Waldman advanced on a bye.

In doubles, the duo of Galvin/Ihrig and Sklenka/Mascagni advanced to the quarterfinals by going a combined 3-0. All four Falcon doubles groups posted a win on the day, as the duos of Azuma/Kitayama and Hendrix/Waldman rallied back from opening losses to win in the consolation bracket.

Day two action tomorrow will feature the same lineup of 9 am doubles and 10 am singles, followed by 1 pm doubles and 2 pm singles.
