Falcons Head to Oklahoma for ORU Invitational

Air Force will face Illinois State, Little Rock and Oral Roberts over the Sept. 6-7 weekend.
The Air Force volleyball team returns to action this weekend, when it travels to Tulsa, Okla., to face Arkansas Little Rock, Illinois State and Oral Roberts at the ORU Invitational. The two-day tournament, which will take place at the Cooper Aerobics Center on the ORU campus, will begin for the Falcons on Friday, Sept. 6, when they face Little Rock at 5:00 p.m. (CT).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
All three opponents opened the 2019 season this past weekend. Little Rock finished the Arkansas Classic with a 0-3 slate, while Illinois State went 2-1 at the North Texas Invitational and Oral Roberts tallied the same record at the SHSU Invitational. ORU, which improved to 3-1 on the year with a five-set home win over Missouri State on Sept. 3, will host SMU on Sept 5, prior to kicking off this weekend's tournament.
SERIES HISTORY
Air Force has very limited experience against this weekend's opponents, having only faced Oral Roberts once back in 1992. The Falcons, who won that Division II contest by a 3-1 margin, have never faced Illinois State or Little Rock.

Denise Ssozi and Andi Ahlers will serve as the captains for the 2019 volleyball team.

The Falcons moved to 24-20 all-time record in the first match of a new season (11-13 at the Division I level).
WHAT'S ON DECK
After spending the first two weeks of the season on the road, Air Force opens the home portion of its season next week, when it hosts the annual Amy Svoboda Memorial Classic on Friday-Saturday, Sept 13-14, inside Cadet East Gym. The Falcons will welcome Loyola Chicago, UC Irvine and Virginia Tech to the Academy to kick off a three-week, seven match homestand.
