
Women's Swimming Competes at Horsetooth Open Water Swim

Freshman Gina Jenkins won the women's 2.4 mile swim
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The Air Force Academy women's swimming team competed at the Horsetooth Open Water swim this morning, Sept. 8, in Fort Collins. The Falcons took first place in the team division over Colorado State, Northern Colorado, and Colorado Mesa. In addition, freshman Gina Jenkins won the women's division in the 2.4 mile swim.
Overall, Air Force's top five finishers were Jenkins, sophomore Abbie Loesch, and freshmen Shea Burcham, Greer Johnson, and Alex Schwier. These five will now advance to the Open Water Nationals next Saturday, Sept. 14. The event will take place in Topeka, Kan.
