HOUSTON, Texas – Air Force women's swim and dive wrapped up their time at the Phil Hansel Invitational and earned third out of 11 teams, on Friday November 21. The Falcons scored 886 and saw a pair of school records broken by Naomi Furman.
"What a great three days of swimming for our team," expressed head coach Colleen Murphy. "This was a total team effort; we had 12 different swimmers earn spots on our all-time top ten list, a multitude of best times, and two new school records."
In another record-breaking performance, Furman reset the 200 breast record she previously set in 2023 to place fourth with a time of 2:12.74. Following behind was Maeve Linscott, who touched the wall at 2:15.34 for seventh.
On the platform, Chloe Perkins scored 219.55 to finish in sixth place and represent the Falcons in the top ten.
Katie Andrist recorded a time of 16:43.29 in the 1650 free to place sixth. Behind her in tenth, Abby Miller clocked her finish at 16:55.32 to take the eighth all-time spot for AFA.
In the 200 back, Kai-Min Tsuei placed eighth with her time of 2:02.99 and scored 22 for the Falcons, while Sadie Hartig followed with the third-fastest Air Force time of 1:58.93. Addy Forbes placed 13th and took 7th all-time at 1:59.68, with Brynn Bond (2:00.21) and Elizabeth Sistrunk (2:00.20) also adding their names to the record book.
Freshman Natalie Doig placed 12th in the 200 fly while securing the fifth fastest time for the Falcons at 2:01.41.
Ryan Mills took the highest finish for Air Force in the 100 free (50.07) and earned the second all-time swim with her leadoff in the 400 free relay (49.92). Lily Larson shifted into third all-time for the Academy with her time of 50.05.
Murphy commented, "This was a testament to the team's hard work and commitment this fall. We are not done and we will continue this momentum for the next three months heading into the Mountain West Championships."
Air Force will be back in action at the CSCAA Open Water National Championships in Sarasota, Fla., on Saturday December 13.
