USAFA, Colo. – The Air Force Academy men's swimming and diving team cruised to a 135.5-63.5 win over Western Athletic Conference foe Seattle University, Friday evening, Jan. 17, inside the Cadet Natatorium. The Falcons won all 13 events contested, had four 1-2 finishes, and two 1-2-3 finishes.
The night started with the 400 medley relay, as seniors Cole McAnany and Zach Nelson, as well as sophomores Aaron Pang and Andrew Limpert, took first. The 1-2 finishes came in the 200 free, with freshman Wen Zhang and sophomore Wyatt Boswell, and the 100 free, with sophomore Matthew Lattin and Boswell. Then there were five more individual wins, in the 1000 free (Williams), 500 free (Zhang), and 200 breast (Nelson), as well as the 50 free which was freshman Corey Shepard, and the 200 back which was Gabriel Bartolomei.
Finishing off the evening was the 400 free relay, which the group of Zhang, Shepard, Boswell, and Davis took gold. Finally, the diving events were uncontested, as SU does not sponsor diving, however junior Cole Armagost had the top score in both the 1-meter and 3-meter.
The Falcons will return to action tomorrow, when they rematch with Seattle in dual competition. Things from the Cadet Natatorium begin at 11 a.m.
