Men’s Tennis Completes 3-0 Weekend With 4-3 Win Over Southern Utah

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis defeated Southern Utah 4-3 Sunday morning at the indoor tennis courts. With the win, the Falcons completed a 3-0 weekend to open the 2020 Spring season.

The Falcons got the doubles point by sweeping the doubles. Jamie Bautista and Paul Hendrix combined for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Parker/Williams. Mack Galvin and Sean McKendree earned the win at No. 3 doubles, 6-4, over Shin/Erro to claim the point. Jordan Azuma and Justin Waldman completed with sweep with a 6-4 win at No. 2 over McCaig/Tordoff.

In singles, the Falcons split 3-3 with the Thunderbirds. Sophomore Jordan Azuma earned Air Force the win with the win at No. 3 singles for the fourth point. The Falcons also got wins from Galvin at No. 2 and Waldman at No. 3.

Galvin won at No. 2 over MCaig 6-3, 6-4. Waldman won at No. 4 over Williams 7-6, 6-4. Azuma won at No. 3 over Shin in three sets 7-5, 7-4, 6-4.

Air Force returns to action Friday, Jan. 24, hosting Bryant beginning at 5 pm MT.
