
Air Force Drops MW-Opener At Nevada

RENO, NEVADA - Air Force men's basketball (2-3, 0-1 MW) dropped its Mountain-West opener to Nevada (6-2, 1-0 MW), 74-57, Friday night at Lawlor Events Center. Freshman Glen McClintock led the Falcons with 15 points and junior AJ Walker added 14.
The Wolf Pack shot 51 percent from the field with guard Desmond Cambridge scoring 23 points.
McClintock set a career-high for points, shooting 5 of 8 from the field and 3 of 4 from three-point range. McClintock added three rebounds and two assists. Walker scored 14 points with two assists and two steals.
Nevada raced out to a hot start, building up to a 14 point lead at 32-18 with 7:48 to go in the first half. The Falcons fought back to make it a 41-39 halftime score after a 16-4 run to close out the opening half.
The Falcons tied the game up with the first basket of the second half, but the Wolf Pack responded with a 16-5 run to take control of the game.
Air Force shot 41 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range. The Falcons tied a season-high with 10 steals for the second-straight game.
Senior forward Keaton Van Soelen scored nine points and had a team-high with four assists and three steals. Senior guard Chris Joyce added six points and four assists.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, Dec. 20 for the final game of the series with Nevada. Tip time is 3 pm PT.
