Rifle Team Travels to Kentucky for NCAA Championship

The Falcons will compete in their seventh NCAA meet on March 13-14 in Lexington.
U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. – The Air Force rifle team was selected to compete in its seventh NCAA Rifle Championships in Lexington, KY.
The University of Kentucky's Memorial Coliseum in Lexington is the venue for the NCAA Championships. The Smallbore Individual and Team Competitions will be held on Friday, March 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., EST. On Saturday, March 14, 9:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., EST, the Air Rifle Individual and Team Competitions will be held. Finals will follow at the end of the smallbore and air rifle events followed by awards.
Falcons to watch: Sophomore Peter Fiori (Lebanon, NJ). On the NCAA's Top Individual Air Rifle coring list, Fiori is ranked 35th with a 597 and is also ranked 48th with a 596. On the Smallbore Scores list, Fiori is 27th with a 589. The sophomore has an 1177.364 average for the year.
Senior Logan Ogden (Galway, NY) has averaged 580.727 in the smallbore and 592.455 in the air rifle. He finished the season with an 1173.182 average.
Junior Sarah Sawicki (East Brunswick, NJ) stepped her game finishing the year with an 1150.929 aggregate average. Her smallbore average is 567.429 and air rifle is 583.5 going into the championships. At the NCAA Qualifier against TCU in February, Sawicki finished third in smallbore with a 582.
Sophomore Devin Schwindt (Lees Summit, MO) is ranked fourth on the team with an aggregate average of 1154.455. His smallbore and air rifle averages are 574.364 and 580.91, respectively. At the NCAA Qualifier in February, he finished ninth overall with an 1163.
Freshman Jordan Williams (Colorado Springs, CO) is set to make his first appearance at the National Collegiate Rifle Championships. He finished the year with an aggregate average of 1152.545. His averages for smallbore and air rifle are 569.727 and 582.818, respectively. At the NCAA Qualifier, he scored a 575 in smallbore and 588 in air rifle to finish with an 1163 aggregate.
Last year, Air Force won the Men's and Women's Air Rifle team championship with a 2368. The team scored 2319 points in smallbore. Air Force finished third in the overall team championships with a team score of 4687, which was just 12 points below NCAA titlist TCU.
Match Format/Results: The standard match format will consist of the USA Shooting 60-shot 3x20 smallbore and 60-shot air rifle. The priority for squadding will be to "counter" student-athletes before "non-counter" student athletes. Game stories, results and other information as it pertains to the championships, will be located on ncaa.com. NCAA.com will provide live streaming of the championships.
