Last Time Out
- Air Force won a weekend series over South Dakota State, March 6-8 at Falcon Field
- The Falcons won the book ends, taking the opener, 15-8, and the finale, 6-5
- AF got the bats going, hitting .336 as a team, with 34 hits, 28 runs, and 15 extra base hits
Blatchford Blasting the Dingers
- Coming into the series against South Dakota State, AF had yet to hit a home run. Junior Cole Blatchford changed all that, as he hit a home run in each of the three games over the weekend series. His solo homer in the finale on Sunday proved to be the game winner in a 6-5 win.
Mr. 200
In the 7-3 win over Army, Feb. 29, Head Coach Mike Kazlausky won his 200th game as Air Force's skipper. He became just the second baseball coach to win 200 games at Air Force, joining all-time wins leader Joe Robison, who had 282 in 14 seasons.
Sweet as Shuger
Freshman Jason Shuger has been a go-to option early in his Falcon career. The righty has a 3.00 ERA over 18 innings, to go along with 20 strikeouts, which leads the team. In 5.2 innings of relief against No. 14 Duke, Shuger struck out 11 Blue Devils.
Easley's Eye on the Record Book
Senior OF Ashton Easley enters the 2020 season with the potential to have a serious impact on the AF record book. Already, he is tied for fifth in career triples with 14 and is fourth in career stolen bases with 56. If he maintains his career averages in numerous categories, he will also reach the upper echelons on the Falcon record book before season's end.
On the Horizon
The Falcons return to Falcon Field as they host Big Ten foe Minnesota for a three game weekend series, March 13-15.
