"Bailey will always be remembered as one of my favorite 'success stories'," head coach Ralph Lindeman said. "He came to Coach Lyon his sophomore year as what I like to call a refugee from another sport – in his case, baseball – and with a desire to throw the javelin. He worked his tail off to excel in the event and overcame an injury that sidelined his entire sophomore season. He culminated his dedication with a fourth-place finish at last spring's 2019 Mountain West Championships, throwing 208'6". Bailey will also be remembers as a leader for our teams, having been voted by his peers as a team captain for his senior season. Even though Javelin throwers cannot compete during indoor track season, he showed high quality leadership to our men's and women's teams throughout the year."
