"Of all the cadet-athletes on our teams, there's nobody I've grieved as much for losing their senior year as Parker Spearman," head coach Ralph Lindeman said. "Like his close friend, Bailey – a recruited Falcon baseball player his freshman year, Parker found the javelin and Coach Lyon as a sophomore. In his first year throwing the javelin, he placed second in the Mountain West Conference, and followed that up with another runner-up finish last year, as a junior. Coach Lyon and I were certain Parker would throw well over 70 meters this year, smash the USAFA school record and win the Mountain West. Unlike most other cadet-athletes on our teams who had the opportunity to have an indoor track season, Parker, Bailey and our underclassmen javelin throwers had NO opportunities to compete. I'm praying that the Air Force WCAP program will give Parker the opportunity to have one more season to throw, and to earn a spot in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in 2021, before starting his career with the US Space Force."
