Air Force Men’s Tennis Places Three On MW Scholar-Athlete Team

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis placed three players on the Mountain West Scholar Athlete Team for the 2019-20 season, announced by the conference office. The three scholar-athletes are the most in the Dan Oosterhous era and is the third-most ever for the program in the MW era.
The three scholar-athletes are the most at Air Force since a program record four in 2001-02 and 2002-03.
Junior Sean McKendree (3.92 - Mechanical Engineering) led the way with his second-career scholar-athlete honor. Freshmen Justin Waldman (3.96 - Biology) and Jason Wild (3.88 - Biology) picked up their first-career scholar-athlete honors.
The MW had a conference-record 1,023 student-athletes, including 150 individuals who have achieved a 4.00 cumulative grade point average or better over two or more terms achieve MW Scholar-Athlete. The previous league record of 867 was set in 2018-19.
The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in a Mountain West-sponsored sport.
