SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Wyoming, which claimed its first two Mountain West wins of the season last week with road wins over San Jose State (3-2) and Nevada (3-0), is currently 10-8 on the season – and 2-4 in conference play. The Cowgirls lead the league in kills (13.23) and digs (15.18) during conference matches. Colorado State improved to 9-6 on the year – and 5-1 in conference play – with victories over Nevada (3-0) and San Jose State (3-1) last weekend. The Rams, who will host New Mexico on Thursday, are holding their opponents to a league-low .169 hitting in Mountain West matches
HISTORY 101
Air Force is 6-43 all-time against Wyoming and hold a 2-53 lifetime record against Colorado State. The Falcons, who did not face Wyoming during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, last earned a road win over the Cowgirls in 2003. Air Force snapped a 53-match skid to Colorado State last season, as it swept the Rams at Moby Arena – becoming the first Mountain West team in 11 years – and the first overall team in five years – to sweep CSU on its home court.
WE'LL BE SEEING YOU
The Falcons will face the Rams and Cowgirls again in just two weeks, when those opponents travel to the Academy.
