Air Force returns to the Academy to host a pair of WAC matches against UTRGV, Friday at 6 p.m., and Incarnate Word, Sunday at 1 p.m. The Vaqueros are currently unbeaten in WAC action while the Cardinals are 1-1-1 in league play.
Current Defense Department and Air Force Academy rules require all individuals to wear a mask inside Academy facilities. All individuals who have not been fully vaccinated must wear masks outside on military installations.
A QUICK LOOK
UTRGV has put up 18 goals this season. Reshaun Walkes leads the Vaqueros with 18 points via seven goals and four assists, while teammate Yusuf Cueceoglu has notched four goals and tallied three assists. The Vaquero's top keeper, Trevor Schneider, has given up 12 goals this season and maintains a 2.10 goals against average.
Incarnate Word has put up just eight goals this season, led by a pair of scorers with two goals apiece in Bernabe Lopez and Eduardo Perez. The Cardinals' keeper Nils Roth boasts a 1.27 goals against average, giving up 12 goals in nine games.
THE SERIES AGAINST UTRGV
Air Force and the Vaqueros of UTRGV will be meeting for the eighth time in the all-time series; the Falcons hold a 4-2-1 series advantage. UTRGV won last season's regular meeting, 3-1; however, Air Force won when it counted, downing the Vaqueros, one-nil, in the WAC tournament semi-finals.

The Falcons and Cardinals will be meeting for the eighth time in program history with Air Force remaining unbeaten in the seven-game series.
LAST TIME THEY PLAYED
Apr. 15, 2021 - The sixth-seeded Falcons secured their second-straight WAC Tournament upset, outscoring the second-seeded UTRGV Vaqueros, 1-0, Thursday afternoon at Peter Johann Memorial Field. The Falcons, who are returning to the WAC finals for the first time since 2016, improved their overall record to 6-4-1.
Mar. 31, 2021 - Air Force outscored UIW, 3-1, at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium. Air Force's Michael Neacsu, Elijah Bussey and Ayman Bushara registered goals in the win. Giuliano Daniel was credited with two assists.
WAC RANKINGS
Due to the lightning-forced cancelation of the schedule match between Utah Valley and UT Rio Grande Valley on Oct. 1, the standings will revert to a points per match format for the remainder of the 2021 season.
UP NEXT
The Falcons travel to Seattle U to take on the Redhawks in Saturday evening matchup at Championship Field. Action is set to kick off at 7 p.m. PT. The match will be aired on ESPN+.

As a team, Seattle U leads the WAC in shots (169), points (58), goals (20), assists (18), shutouts (4) and corner kicks (69). UT Rio Grande Valley is the leader in goals per game (2.25) while Utah Valley has the lead in assists per game (2.12). Grand Canyon has allowed the least number of goals (7) and has the top goals against average (0.87). Dixie State is the leader in saves (47).
Individually, SU's Declan McGlynn leads the WAC in shots (36) while AF's Tristan Trager is the leader in shots per game (4.12). UTRGV's Reshaun Walkes and CBU's Bryan Iliohan are tied for the lead in points (18) with Walkes holding sole possession of the lead in points per game (2.25). Iliohan is the leader in goals (9) and goals per game (0.90). GCU's Justin Rasmussen is tied with SU's Levonte Johnson for the lead in assists (5), with Rasmussen having the lead in assists per game (0.62).
In goal, UVU's Joseph Wheelwright holds the top goals against average (0.70) while GCU's Rafael Guerrero has the lead in save percentage (.857). CSU's Joe Bowles is the leader in saves (44) with DSU's Levi Lord holding the lead in saves per game (5.40). SU's Akili Kasim holds the lead in shutouts (4).
