Air Force Heads to Utah State, Boise State

The Falcons will travel to Utah State (Nov. 4) and Boise State (Nov. 6) this week.
The Air Force volleyball team heads back out on the road this week for its final two-match road swing of the 2021 season. The Falcons travel to Utah State on Thursday, Nov. 4, before heading to Boise, Idaho, on Saturday, Nov. 6. Both contests are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. (MT) and will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Holding a 17-7 overall record, Utah State is currently second in the Mountain West with a 9-3 mark. The Aggies, who are 8-1 at home, went 1-1 during last week's road trip – claiming a five-set win at San Diego State on Thursday, before being swept at UNLV on Saturday. Boise State, who will host New Mexico prior to its contest with Air Force, enters the week 17-8 overall, 6-6 in conference and 7-4 at home. The Broncos lead the conference in blocks during MW matches, with a 2.60 per-set average, while the Aggies' Kennedi Boyd holds a league-leading hitting average of .477 (75-13-130).

Air Force is 5-10 all-time against Utah State and holds a 5-15 lifetime mark against Boise State. The Falcons dropped their first meetings of 2021 with both schools, falling to the Broncos (21-25, 21-25, 15-25) and Aggies (11-25, 19-25, 25-17, 14-25) at the Academy at the beginning of October. Air Force has claimed two victories in Logan, but has never beaten the Broncos in Boise.

FALCONS SNAP SKID AGAINST WYOMING
With a 25-14, 25-21, 16-25, 25-23 victory over Wyoming on Oct. 30, Air Force snapped a 13-match losing skid to the Cowgirls that dated back to the 2013 season. The win was just the Falcons' second over Wyoming since a season sweep in 2003 – a span than encompassed 33 contests.

Air Force returns to the Academy next week to begin its final homestand of the 2021 season. The Falcons will host San Diego State on Thursday, Nov. 11, before welcoming UNLV to Cadet East Gym on Saturday, Nov. 13.
