Baseball announces 2022 spring schedule
11/23/2021 2:39:00 PM | Baseball
Following a 26-22 finish a season ago, a campaign that concluded with the Falcons posting the program's best winning-percentage since 1993, Air Force will not be resting on its laurels. Rather, the Falcons will embrace the challenge of a new schedule consistent with elite Power 5 competition.
To start the 2022 season, Air Force will travel to Charleston, S.C. to play in the Swig & Swine Classic, as the Falcons will debut against Iowa on February 18. Air Force is also scheduled to play Ball State, Army, and Richmond while in South Carolina.
Air Force will waste no time in its service academy slate, with Coach Kaz's group traveling to Kinston, N.C. the following weekend to play Navy in a three-game series at the Freedom Classic.
Coach Kaz does not shy away from playing the best competition available, and 2022 will see the Falcons living their coach's philosophy. Air Force is scheduled play such programs as Minnesota, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Texas, Oral Roberts, Cal Baptist and Kansas in varying weekend and weekday series.
The Falcons will open its home schedule on March 4 against Nevada, one of seven home series to be played at Falcon Field. In spite of a road-heavy slate of games, Air Force will have an extended home stand starting April 22 until May 2, with such opponents as Fresno State, Kansas, UNLV and Oral Roberts heading to Colorado Springs.
