
Air Force Falls At Arkansas State

JONESBORO, AR - Air Force men's basketball fell to Arkansas State, 68-46, Sunday afternoon at First National Bank Arena. The Falcons dropped to 7-3 on the season and Arkansas State moved to 8-3.
Several big runs allowed the Red Wolves to pull away from the Falcons. An 11-0 run in the first-half had Arkansas State up 23-11 with nine minutes left. The Falcons closed the half on a 7-0 run to pull to within 10 at 34-24.
The Falcons got the game to within seven points early in the second, forcing an Arkansas State timeout. The Red Wolves then went on 11-0 and 9-0 runs to pull away.
Forward Norchad Ormier recorded a double-double with 22 points and 16 rebounds to lead Arkansas State. Ormier made his first seven shots of the game and went 9 of 14 from the field for the game.
Junior guard Camden Vander Zwaag led the Falcons with eight points. Vander Zwaag also tied career-high's with four rebounds and three assists. Guards Joseph Octave and Ethan Taylor added seven points each. Guard Jake Heidbreder had a career-high six rebounds and freshman Lucas Moerman added six points and six rebounds.
Air Force shot a season-low 32 percent from the field and 29 percent from three-point range.
Freshmen Ryan Corner and Jake Murphy made their collegiate debuts in reserve roles for the Falcons.
Air Force returns to action Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Tarleton State. Tip time is 7 pm CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
