Falcons Head to Nevada for Two-Match Series

Air Force will face the Wolfpack at 1:00 p.m. (PT) on Friday and Saturday.
The Air Force volleyball team (2-2) heads back out on the road this weekend, when it travels to Reno to face Nevada (0-4) in a two-match conference series on Feb. 19-20
MATCH INFORMATION
Both matches of the Falcons' weekend series at Nevada will take place at 1:00 p.m. (PT) inside Virginia Street Gym. Due to COVID restrictions, spectator attendance will be limited and restricted to player guests only. Both matches will be streamed on the Mountain West Network, while live stats will also be available (direct links to both video and stats can be found on the team's schedule page at GoAirForceFalcons.com).
SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK
Nevada, wrapping up a season-opening, six-match homestand this weekend, is currently 0-4 on the season after dropping back-to-back 3-1 decisions to both New Mexico and Colorado State during the first two weeks of the year. Andrea Alcaraz is ranked second in the Mountain West with 9.81 assists per set, while Kaila Spevak has accounted for the league's second-highest two-week average in digs (3.81). The Wolfpack hold a narrow 9-8 advantage over the Falcons in the all-time series, but Air Force has a slight edge (4-3) in contests played at Virginia Street Gym.

Virginia Street Gym was the site of a streak-breaking victory for Air Force on Nov. 10, 2012, as the team captured a four-set win over the Wolfpack to earn its first Mountain West road victory in nine years. The Falcons' win snapped a 66-match losing streak in MW road matches that had dated back to Nov. 15, 2003.
AIR FORCE IN THE CONFERENCE RANKINGS
The Falcons are ranked among the conference's top four in three events, while a pair of Falcons are listed among the individual top 10. Air Force is listed third in service aces with a 2.00 average, while holding the No. 4 marks in both hitting (.228) and opponent hitting (.192). Individually, Gabby Wilson is ranked fifth in service aces with a 0.55 average and Jordan Daniels' 3.44 digs-per-set average is listed 10th.
FALCONS SNAP SKID AGAINST SAN JOSE STATE
Air Force opened the home portion of its season with a 25-19, 25-21, 22-25, 25-20 victory over San Jose State on Feb 12 – snapping an eighth-match losing skid to the Spartans that dated back to the 2015 season.

The Falcons return to the Academy next week to begin a two-week stretch in the friendly confines of Cadet East Gym. Air Force opens the homestand with a pair of contests against New Mexico on Feb. 26-27, before welcoming Fresno State to the gym on March 5-6.
