Falcons Face Off With Army at Freedom Classic
The Air Force Academy baseball team continues its 2021 campaign with a trip to North Carolina to take on Army West Point for the 11th annual Freedom Classic in Kinston, Friday-Sunday, March 5-7. The games against the Black Knights at historic Grainger Stadium will have start times of 4 p.m./12 p.m./10:30 a.m. MT, respectively.

Series History vs. Army
- The Falcons and Black Knights have squared off on the diamond 29 times, with AF leading the tally, 20-9.
- The series began back in 1974, a 5-3 Falcon win at West Point.
- The last five meetings have been at neutral sites, including the last two at the Armed Forces Invitational in Fayetteville, N.C.
Freedom Classic History
- This marks the 10th season Air Force will play a game against a Service Academy rival in Kinston after Coach Kaz started the Freedom Classic tradition in his first season in 2011
- Each of the previous nine Freedom Classics have come against Navy
- The streak was broken last season, as due to inclement weather in Kinston, the series was moved to Annapolis

- The Falcons went 0-3, in the Mountain West Conference opening series at New Mexico, Feb. 27-28. AF fell in a slugfest in the opener, 11-7, followed by losses of 5-2 and 11-4.
Fly Falcons Fly
In each season under Head Coach Mike Kazlausky, the team has been aggressive on the base paths. The last three seasons in particular have been the most aggressive, as AF has ranked nationally in stolen bases, including second in 2020 (46), 56th in 2019 (78), and 65th in 2018 (74).
Already this season, AF has 12 swipes, which ranks 24th. Junior Alexander Pup leads the way with four, which 23rd in the nation.
On the Horizon
The Falcons will head to Tucson, Arizona for a pair of non-conference games, Saturday-Sunday, March 13-14. AF will take on Wichita State on Saturday in a neutral site game at Hi Corbett Field, followed by a contest against the host Arizona Wildcats on Sunday.
