Alan Long, Walker Morris Claim Wins at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Juniors Walker Morris and Alan Long captured victories for the Air Force boxing team this evening (Sept. 10), as the Falcons faced off against their counterparts from Navy in Annapolis, with Morris earning the team's Boxer of the Week award.
The pair, claiming victories during the night's final two bouts, led Air Force to a 2-9 overall record against the Midshipmen (2-4 men, 0-5 women) at Macdonough Hall. Morris capped the event with a 190-pound victory over Vinny Motzel, while Long decisioned Peyton Seago in a 170-pound contest.
Senior Zach Phillips and junior Tyler Dalzell both competed in 147-pound bouts, falling to Adrian Johnson and Aidan McNally, respectively, while sophomore Noah Lewis dropped his 132-pound bout with Brandon Volontiya and senior Alan Manzo fell in a 156-pound bout with Kenny Wilkerson.
Five women also competed this evening, including two seniors – Sam Thompson (147 pounds, Abby Pidgeon), Ymani Nesmith (165 pounds, Jordan Barnhart), two juniors – Brooke Martin (139 pounds, Jasmine Brown), Allyah Marlett (156 pounds, JC Currie), and one sophomore – Cat Tak (125 pounds, Kayla Gillums).
The Falcons return to the Academy next week (Sept. 17) for another installment of Friday Night Fights.
