Series History vs. Opponents
-The Falcons are historically 7-8-2 against the Black Knights, the last meeting taking place in 2019, a 3-0 Air Force home win.
-The most recent match saw three Falcon goals scored within the first 39 minutes, with Lexi Romero, Brittany Mahowald, and Bree Bezdek each finding the back of the net. Air Force defender, junior Kayla Milford, recorded her first career assist in the match.
-This will be the 18th meeting between the two service academies, the first taking place in 1992 when Army defeated Air Force 2-1 in Colorado Springs.
-As a result of Sunday's 1-0 win at Navy, a win on Thursday would make 2021 the first year the Falcons have defeated both the Midshipmen and the Black Knights in the same season.
Attacking Momentum
-Following two goalless matches to start the season, the Falcons have begun to find an offensive groove, averaging 1.33 goals over the last three matches.
-All four goals have been scored by four different players, with Kayla Milford and Faith Lee notching second-career scores, as well as Jenna Rubidoux and Ashlie Van Cleave recording their first-ever collegiate goals.
Freshmen Fitting In
-Along with Cammi Bych and Bella Colandrea, freshmen defenders Kendall Ahern and Hannah Johnson are two of only four players to start all five games thus far for the Falcons.
-As well, of the 12 players to appear in all five games for Air Force, seven have been freshmen.
A Tale of Two Halves
-Air Force has outscored its opponents 4-3 in the first 45 minutes of five matches this season. However, the Falcons have been unable to replicate such offense, having been outscored 5-0 in the second-half of matches.
-Coach Friend's team has been outshot 38-21 in the second-half so far this season.
One This Week, Two Next Week
-Following Thursday's matchup with Army, the Falcons begin a five match home stand beginning with South Dakota State on Monday, September 20. Air Force then opens conference play with San Jose State on Friday, September 24.
