COVID-19 Update
-Current Department of Defense and Air Force Academy policies require all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask when indoors in all Academy facilities, including the press box, Blue and Silver Club, suites, elevators and restrooms. All individuals who have not been fully vaccinated must also wear masks outdoors at all times while on the installation. Fans who are fully vaccinated and are not required to wear a mask when outdoors. Anyone with a COVID-19 diagnosis within the previous 10 days, or any symptoms suggestive of possible COVID-19, or a recent close contact with an individual known to be positive for COVID-19 should not come to the stadium. These policies will be constantly evaluated and any changes will be communicated.
Series History vs. Opponents
-Historically, the Falcons are 1-7-1 against the Spartans, and will be looking for their first-ever home win against San Jose State.
-The two were not scheduled to play during the 2021 spring, as the last meeting between the two schools took place in 2019, with Air Force losing 2-1 at Cadet Soccer Stadium.
- Air Force has not produced a result against SJSU since 2013, a 0-0 double-overtime draw.
-Against Fresno State, Air Force is 2-7-1 in 10 previous matchups, though the Falcons were victorious in the last meeting, a 1-0 road win in 2019.
-The Falcons are undefeated against Fresno State since 2018, going 1-0-1 in the last two matches.
Cadet Athlete of the Week
-Goalkeeper Cammi Bych was named the most recent Cadet Athlete of the Week, after the sophomore managed a pair of clean sheets in road wins against both Navy and Army.
-In those two matches, Bych recorded a combined five saves, helping Air Force to clinch victories over both service academies in the same season for the first time in program history. As of September 22, Bych is tied for the Mountain West lead in goalkeeper shutouts thus far with three in 2021.
Conference Play is Upon Us
-Historically, Air Force is 65-149-19 since in conference play since 1992, while head coach Larry Friend has produced a record of 25-75-11 against Mountain West Conference opponents.
-Among current Mountain West Conference players, juniors Catherine Bakken and Faith Lee are tied for 5th in assists, with two each.
Two This Weekend, Two Next Weekend
-Following matchups with San Jose State and Fresno State, Air Force will conclude its five-game home stand with games against conference foes UNLV (Friday, Oct. 1) and Nevada (Sunday, Oct. 3). The match with UNLV is a "Pack The House" event, while the Sunday match with Nevada will represent Senior Day for the Falcons.
