Falcons match best road round at CU Invite

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force golf team matched its best road round of the season on the final day of the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo.

In the final round, the Falcons shot a 303 matching the final round that was also shot at the CSU Ram Masters last week. Air Force's 54-hole team score of 913 was a season best.

On the final day, three Falcons shot 74 as freshman Christopher Park, sophomore Aaron Kuznik and junior Isaac Layne all hit the number. Freshman Cameron Kahle shot 81 and senior Jonathan Farmer shot 83 in the final round. For the tournament, Layne was the top Falcon shooting 226 over the 54-hole tournament. Kuznik came in second at 227, followed by Farmer (234), Kahle (235) and Park (236).

Seniors Colter Baca (225) and Luke Trujillo (235) competed as individuals.

Boise State won with a team score of 818. San Francisco and Utah tied for second (828), while San Diego was fourth (833) and Wyoming and the host school, Colorado, were tied for fifth (835).

Air Force returns to action at the Paintbrush Invitational, Oct. 4-5, in Parker, Colo.
