Wrestling Travels to David H. Lehman F&M Open

Falcon wrestling travels to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to compete at the 2022 David H. Lehman F&M Open, Friday, January 7. Action is slated for 9 a.m. ET. A live stream and live results will be provided by FloWrestling and FloArena.
WHO WILL BE THERE
The Falcons will compete alongside American, Army West Point, Brown, Franklin & Marshall, George Mason, Harvard, Lock Haven, Navy, Presbyterian, Sacred Heart, Virginia. The opportunity marks the first time Air Force will see service academy rival action this season.

The Falcons make their return to Clune Arena as they host Big 12 newcomers California Baptist on Saturday, January 27.
LAST TIME OUT
Air Force sent a small contingent to wrestle at the 2022 Southern Scuffle. The wrestlers competed unattached as the Falcons withdrew to COVID related health and safety protocols.
Top-seeded Air Force sophomore Wyatt Hendrickson won the heavyweight title, pinning three opponents while earning five bonus point victories en route to the title. For his dominant performance Hendrickson won the Outstanding Wrestler award and the Gorrarian Award for the most pins in the shortest amount of time (4/11:10). He gave up just four points on the tournament. Hendrickson is the first-ever Southern Scuffle champion in Air Force history.
Air Force junior Cody Phippen picked up a pair of wins, finishing 2-2 on the event, while senior teammate Sidney Flores wrestled two matches to decision losses.
BIG 12 HONORS
Air Force sophomore Wyatt Hendrickson was voted Big 12 Wrestler of the Week after conquering the heavyweight title at the 2022 Southern Scuffle.
Hendrickson opened the tournament by taking down Duke's Brayden Ray 7-1 and Stanford's Peter Ming 6-0 via fall. The sophomore picked up his first ranked win of the weekend with a 19-1 technical fall victory over No. 29 Zachary Schrader (Maryland). Hendrickson then faced a conference foe in No. 23 Brandon Metz (North Dakota State), earning an 11-2 majority decision to advance to the finals where he swiftly accomplished a 6-0 fall against No. 18 Lewis Fernandes (Cornell).
