Falcons fall to Nebraska in rifle

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Nebraska used a strong smallbore showing for a 4717-4692 win over Air Force in a rifle dual match in Lincoln, Neb.
Nebraska won the smallbore competition, 2345-2312. Air Force rallied in air rifle with a 2380.
Sophomore Lauren Hurley was the top Falcon in aggregate with an 1178, fourth overall. Sophomore Scott Rockett (fifth overall) shot 1176, followed by junior Peninah D'Souza (1175), Morgan Kreb (1171) and Dante Aletto (1158).
Hurley was the top Falcon in smallbore at 583 (fourth overall) followed by D'Souza at 580. Rockett was the top overall in air rifle at 598. Hurley was second overall at 595 and D'Souza was third at 595.
Air Force and Nebraska will face each other again on Sunday, Oct. 23, in Lincoln, Neb.
