Falcons Return Home to Host San Jose State, Nevada

Air Force will welcome the Spartans (Oct. 27) and Wolfpack (Oct. 29) to Cadet East Gym this week..
The Air Force volleyball team opens the second half of the conference's home-and-home schedule this week, as it welcomes San Jose State and Nevada to the Academy for a pair of rematches. The Falcons will host the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. (MT) on Thursday, Oct. 27, before facing the Wolfpack at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 29.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
San Jose State is 15-5 on the year and 9-1 on the year after suffering its first conference loss of the year to UNLV (1-3) last week. The Spartans lead the conference in kills (14.25), assists (13.25) and service aces (1.80), while ranking second in hitting (.253) and opponent hitting (.182) during league play. Yazmin Pitpit and Jiana Lawson are hitting over .400 against their MW opponents, with Pitpit holding the second-best average in the conference at .442. Nevada, which will travel to New Mexico prior to visiting the Academy, enter the week at 10-11 overall and 4-6 in conference play. The Wolfpack, who dropped a pair of 1-3 contests to San Jose State and UNLV last week, are ranked among the conference's top five in digs (third, 14.66), blocks (fourth, 2.34) and aces (fifth, 1.49) during MW matches. Individually, Bella Snyder is ranked third in blocks during conference matches with a 1.20 per-set average.

Joi Harvey is ranked among the top 40 in NCAA Division I with a 1.28 blocks-per-set average (38th). Her 23 solo stops are second in the nation, while her 111 total blocks are tied for 11th and her 88 assisted stops are tied for 15th.

Air Force enters the week ranked second in the conference in blocks-per-set (2.38), while holding a top-five ranking in service aces (1.60, fourth) in overall matches. Individually, Joi Harvey leads the MW in blocks (1.28) and is ranked third in hitting (.367), while Caroline Reinkensmeyer is ranked eighth in assists with a 5.83 per-set average.
