Falcons shoot season best round in Hawai’i

US. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo – The Air Force golf team shot its best round of the season in the final round of the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic, Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Club in Lahaina, Hawai'i.
Air Force's team score of 289 was the best of the season. The previous best mark of 296 was met twice in the fall.
Freshman Brooks Morrell and sophomore Cameron Kahle each shot a 71 (even) in the final round. The 71 matched the career best of each player. Kahle made three birdies and three bogies while Morrell made two birdies and two bogies. Freshman Alvaro Fonseca made three birdies and shot 73 (+2). Senior Isaac Layne also made three birdies and shot 74 while sophomore Christopher Park made four birdies and shot 75.
Air Force's team score of 893 was also a season best. Oklahoma, ranked 11th in the nation, won the tournament with an 811 (-41). Clemson was second at 823 (-29) and Liberty was third at 826 (-26). Air Force placed 20th.
The Ka'anapali Collegiate closed out the fall schedule for the Falcons. Air Force returns to action at the Watersound Invitational, hosted by Florida State, Feb. 19-21, in Panama City, Fla.
