Falcons to Split Week with New Mexico, UNLV

Air Force will host the Lobos on Nov. 1, before traveling to UNLV on Nov. 3.
It's an early start to the week for the Air Force volleyball team, who will cap off a three-match homestand against New Mexico on Tuesday, Nov. 1, before traveling to league-leading UNLV on Thursday, Nov. 3.
MATCH INFORMATION
The Falcons' home match with New Mexico will begin at 6:00 p.m. (MT) inside Cadet East Gym, with Jason Carter and George Egan on the MW Network call, while Air Force's match at UNLV will begin at 6:00 p.m. (PT) at Cox Pavilion. SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
New Mexico is 14-8 on the year and 5-7 in the Mountain West after splitting last week's home contests with Nevada (3-0 win) and San Jose State (1-3 loss). Holding an overall record of 20-3, UNLV is on an 11-match win streak following road matches at Boise State (3-0) and Utah State (3-2) last week and currently leads the league with an 11-1 mark. New Mexico's Kaitlynn Biassou leads the Mountain West with 4.11 kills per set, while teammates Avital Jaloba and Alena Moldan are ranked second in blocks (1.35) and digs (4.24), respectively. UNLV's top-ranked individual player is Jhenna Gabriel, who is ranked second in assists (10.64), while Ellease Crumpton is ranked third in hitting (.414) and Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos holds the same ranking in kills (3.73). This week's opponents are ranked 1-2 in opponent hitting during conference matches, as the Lobos are keeping their opponents to a league-low .179 average and the Rebels are second with a .186 mark. New Mexico also leads the conference in digs – holding a 16.65 per-set average, which is nearly two digs higher than the rest of the MW. Her 24 solo stops are second in the nation, while her 116 total blocks are tied for 10th and her 92 assisted stops are tied for 16th.

Air Force enters the week leading the Mountain West in blocks-per-set (2.47), while holding top-five rankings in overall opponent hitting (.196, fourth) and service aces (1.60, fifth). Individually, Joi Harvey leads the league in blocks (1.29) and ranked second in hitting (.376), while Caroline Reinkensmeyer is ranked seventh in assists with a 6.07 per-set average.
