Air Force defeats Navy and Akron

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force rifle team, ranked ninth in the nation, defeated both seventh-ranked Navy and 10th-ranked Akron in a tri-meet, Saturday, Nov. 19, in Akron, Ohio. Air Force's team score of 4702 won the meet as Akron shot 4688 and Navy shot 4683.
Akron shot three points higher than Air Force in smallbore, but the Falcons dominated air rifle with a 2373. Junior Jordan Williams won the aggregate with a season-high 1181. Junior Morgan Kreb was second (1178) while sophomores Lauren Hurley and Scott Rockett tied for sixth (1171).
Kreb won the smallbore with a 588. Williams was second with a career-high 587 and Rockett was 11th (579). In air rifle, Hurley was first with a season-high 596 while Williams as second (594) and Rockett was fourth (592).
Air Force will face 12th-ranked Ohio State, Sunday, Nov. 20, at 8 am in Columbus, Ohio.
