GREENSBORO, N.C.- After not having a swimmer compete in the first day of competition at the Toyota U.S. Open, Air Force saw Wen Zhang hit the pool for the first time on Thursday.
Zhang, competing in the 50m Freestyle, finished his preliminary session with a time of 23.44, 38th among the 76 swimmers. As a result, the senior did not qualify for either of the three final rounds.
Tomorrow, all four Falcons will hit the pool in their respective events. Zhang is scheduled to compete in the 200m Freestyle, while Tommy Nagle will make his first appearance in the 100m Breaststroke. Both Grant Afman and Andrew Armbruster will participate in the same heat, as both swimmers are projected to race in the 100m Butterfly.
