
Hendrickson Finishes Fourth at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite

LAS VEGAS – Air Force junior heavyweight Wyatt Hendrickson battled to a fourth-place finish at the 40th Annual Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite, Saturday afternoon in the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Falcons put up 34 team points to finish 15th in the field of 34 teams.
No. 8 Hendrickson opened the day in the semifinals match against No. 3 Mason Parris of Michigan. Parris scored the first and only takedown of the first period. In the second period, Parris tilted Hendrickson for four near fall points. Hendrickson was able to reverse the position for his first two points. Early in the third period, Hendrickson exposed Parris for two near fall points but the Wolverine was able to mount a reversal to equalize on the points. Parris scored a late takedown and tacked on a riding time point to seal the deal at 12-7.
Hendrickson moved on to the consolation semifinals where het met with Tyrell Gordon of Northern Iowa. Hendrickson has two previous wins over Gordon from last season. Hendrickson scored a takedown in the first period and four near fall points in the second. With an added escape, the Falcon sealed the deal over the Panther, 7-2.
Hendrickson was slated to meet with No. 5 Yaraslau Slivikouski of Harvard, a wrestler he previously defeated in the quarterfinals. Hendrickson was unable to compete and placed fourth with a medical forfeit.
Next up, the Falcons return to Clune Arena to open the Big 12 dual slate against Wyoming, Saturday, December 10. Action is slated for 7 p.m.
