It is the first weekly conference honor for both Bostic (Men's Track Athlete) and Munson (Men's Freshman).
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After a strong start to the track and field season at last week's Air Force Holiday Open, sophomore Javin Bostic and freshman Connor Munson were honored by the Mountain West this afternoon (Dec. 6). Earning the first conference awards of their career, Bostic was selected as the MW Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Munson was named the MW Men's Freshman of the Week.

Bostic had a stellar season opener on Dec. 2, clocking a career-best time of 6.73 to finish second out of 47 runners in the 60-meter dash. That time matches the third-fastest mark in Academy history and, with an altitude-adjusted time of 6.77a, currently leads the conference and is tied for 11th in the nation. The sophomore added a third-place finish in the 300-meter dash after clocking a time of 35.47.

Munson had an impressive night on the pole vault runway during his collegiate debut, recording a career-best pole vault clearance of 16'0¾" (4.90m) to finish third in the 16-vaulter event. Recording the first 16-foot clearance of his career, he is currently tied for second in the conference and 17th in the NCAA. The freshman also competed in the 60-meter hurdles, recording a debut time of 8.70.
