Air Force golfers to compete in Wyoming Desert Match Play, Feb. 11-12

THIS WEEK: The Air Force golf team opens the spring schedule by competing in the inaugural Wyoming Desert Match Play, hosted by the University of Wyoming, Friday-Saturday, Feb. 11-12, at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. The par 72 course plays over 7,322 yards. Live stats will be available on www.golfstat.com.

THE LINEUP: Each team will have six golfers for the match play event. The Falcon lineup is: 1. Colter Baca; 2. Jonathan Farmer; 3. Cameron Kahle; 4. Christopher Park; 5. Aaron Kuznik; 6. Sawyer Pierce.

FALL RECAP: Air Force competed in six team tournaments in the fall, concluding with the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate, Oct. 29-31, in Maui. The Falcons shot their best team score at that tournament with an 893. The team shot an 894 at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, Oct. 18-19, in Las Cruces, N.M. The Falcons shot a season best 18-hole round of 292 at each tournament. Junior Isaac Layne shot the team's best individual round of 69 (-2) at the Herb Wimberly. Freshman Cameron Kahle shot a 71 twice (Gene Miranda-Falcon Invitational and the Ka'anapali Classic) while Aaron Kuznik shot 71 at the Herb Wimberly.

NEXT UP: After the Classic Club Match Play, the Falcons travel to Goodyear, Ariz., for the annual Loyola Intercollegiate, Feb. 20-23.
