Air Force Sweeps A Pair of Matches In Texas

Air Force women's tennis won both of its matches Saturday at the Bush Tennis Center in Midland, Texas. The Falcons defeated the University of the Southwest (NM) and Texas-Permian Basin, both the by the score of 7-0, to run its record to 6-0 to start the season.

The Falcons opened the morning with a 7-0 win over Texas-Permian Basin. The Falcons swept the doubles with all three winning. The Falcons then went 6-0 in singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets.

Against Southwest, the Falcons were dominant in the 7-0 win. The Falcons did not allow a point in doubles, winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles with 6-0 wins.

In singles, the Falcons allowed just one point as they went 6-0. The Falcons had four singles matches won by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Freshman Maddie Dibble earned her first-career win at No. 6 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win.

"It was a great opportunity to play in the sun, the wind and at sea level," head coach Kim Gidley said.

Air Force returns to action Thursday, Feb. 16, against Rollins College at the USTA Center in Orlando, Fla.
