HOUSTON – Air Force carried the momentum into the second day of the 2022 WAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, concluding the evening with an individual champion, four podium finishes, and three Academy records, Thursday afternoon, at the CRWC Natatorium on the campus of the University of Houston.
Air Force's Wen Zhang, who set a school and conference record in yesterday's 800 free relay, continued to smash records as he raced to a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle (4:16.15), setting the time standard for the WAC and the Academy while putting gold around his neck. The score qualified Zhang for a Division I B-cut.

Falcon senior Adam Grimm, who helped the Falcons to a record time in yesterday's 800 free relay, sped to a second-place finish in the 200 IM (1:46.36), earning a Division I B-cut time in the effort.

Senior teammate Corey Shepard continued to push the pace for the Falcons, swimming to a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle (19.55), setting a program record in the event while also scoring a Division I B-cut time.
Freshman diving standout Alex Kenyon, who took the top-spot in the 3-meter dive on day one, made some noise on the 1-meter dive, scoring a 327.30 to finish third in the event.

The Air Force 200 free relay team, Zhang, Andrew Limpert, Jacob Bulseco and Shepard set an Academy record (1:18.54) as they raced to a third-place finish in the event. The effort marked the sixth program record by the Falcons at the WAC Championships so far.
