Falcons Finalize Wing Open Lineup in Semifinal

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force boxing team finalized its lineup for the Wing Open Championships on Friday (Feb. 26) during the semifinal round of tournament action in the Cadet Gym Boxing Room. Following a victory at 165 pounds, junior Allyah Marlett was named the program's Boxer of the Week.

Marlett defeated MacKenzie Bonang in the opening round of the 165-pound bout – a bout that served as the championship bout for that weight division. Marlett was one of four winners on the women's side of the card – and one of two victors that came before the final bell, as freshman Cassidy Rosa defeated classmate Charisse Tigrado in the second round. Junior Brooke Martin earned the decision over sophomore Morgan Roberts in the 139-pound bout, while sophomore Katie Bush defeated freshman Billie Botes at 147 pounds.

On the men's side, both sides of the 156-pound bracket were decided, as freshman Luke Kohout decisioned junior Jeramiah Birdsong and sophomore Keillan Laurenceau defeated classmate Andrew Ison in the second round. Junior Alan Long won a decision over freshman Robert Marzicola in a 165-pound bout, while sophomore Joe Wilson claimed a victory over classmate Angelo Ganac.

The winners from the semifinal round will head under the lights of the Clune Arena next Friday (March 4) for the finals of the Wing Open Championships.
