Air Force Takes Down Bryant on the Road, 16-10

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Air Force led Bryant from wire to wire for a 16-10 victory on the road at Conaty Indoor, Saturday afternoon. The Falcons, now on a three-game win-streak, improve to 3-4 while Bryant dropped to 2-4.
Air Force put up four individual hat tricks on the game. Junior attack man Brandon Dodd had a six-point performance via three goals and three assists, marking his fifth hat trick this season. Senior teammate and goals leader Brenden Crouse extended to an 11-game goal streak with his fourth hat trick this season with his three goals. Freshman Kyle Griffith notched his first collegiate hat trick on four shots and Aiden Tolen put up three goals and an assist.
The Falcons' Tommy Hellman, Gavin Peene, Maxwell Kane, and Wes Peene rounded out the scorers for Air Force with a goal apiece.
In goal, Jason Rose had a career day as he made a personal-best 21 saves to keep the Bulldogs at bay. Rose was also credited with an assist in one of Griffith's goals. Senior defender Quentin Carlile anchored the defense with four caused turnovers and four ground balls. Sophomore teammate James Chastain caused two turnovers as well.
At the center X, Brian Michael took 27 attempts, winning 10 on the game. He finished with a team-high five ground balls.
Bryant's offense was led by Marc O'Rourke who scored a game-high five goals. Teammate Logan McGovern facilitated scoring with four assists.
At the final whistle, Bryant outshot AF, 50-42 (31-27). Penalties proved to be an issue for the Bulldogs as Air Force converted three goals off extra man opportunities.
Next up, Air Force continues action on the road as they travel to Macon, Georgia, to take on ex-SOCON foe Mercer on Saturday, March 19. The Falcons are 8-2 against the Bears in the all-time series; however, Mercer won two of the last three, both at the Academy.
