
Air Force With 4-0 Shutout Of Nevada Saturday

Air Force women's tennis continued its opening weekend of conference play dominance, downing Nevada (6-4, 0-1 MW) 4-0 in a neutral site match Saturday morning at the McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium on the University of New Mexico campus. The win lifted the Falcons to 13-3, 2-0 MW on the season.
It was the second-consecutive 4-0 win to open conference play for Air Force, as it downed New Mexico 4-0 yesterday.
The Falcons won the doubles point and then swept the Wolf Pack 3-0 in singles.
In doubles, Vivian Glozman and Karina Chao won at No.1 over Luneva/Gonkova 6-2. Alex Kuo and Hailey Stelse won at No. 3 over Moll/Charalampidi 6-2.
In singles, Chao won at No. 4 over Christina Moll 7-6, 6-1. Stelse then won at No 5 over Selina Turulja 6-1, 6-0. Sydney Fitch clinched the match with a win at No. 2 over Milka Genkova 6-2, 6-1.
"It was a great way to finish spring break with two conference wins on the road," head coach Kim Gidley said. "Our doubles has been outstanding this season, winning the doubles point 15 of 16 matches this season. In the singles, the team is using the momentum from each other and really pushing their opponents to the max. Team tennis is a different mindset from individual tennis, so it's great to see the team successful."
Air Force returns to action April 2 against Colorado State in Laramie, Wyo.
