Falcons to compete in BYU Cougar Classic, April 22-23

THIS WEEK: The Air Force golf team will compete in the 57th annual Ping BYU Cougar Classic, April 22-23, in Provo, Utah. Live stats will be available on www.golfstat.com
THE FORMAT: The teams will play at the par-72, 7,142-yard Riverside Country Club. Teams will play the first and second rounds on Friday, April 22, with a shotgun start beginning at 9 am MT. The final round will be Saturday, April 23, with a shotgun start at 9 am MT.
THE FIELD: Air Force will be joined by BYU (No. 49), Boise State (No. 50), Colorado State, Dixie State, Nevada (No. 34), New Mexico State, Pacific, San Diego (No. 51), St. Mary's, Utah Valley, Washington State and Wyoming.
THE LINEUP: Air Force's lineup for the Cougar Classic will be: 1. Isaac Layne; 2. Christopher Park; 3. Cameron Kahle; 4. Aaron Kuznik; 5. Maxwell Heupel. Seniors Jonathan Farmer and Colter Baca and freshman Sam Schuhl will compete as individuals.
LAST TIME AT THE COUGAR: Air Force placed 20th at the BYU Cougar Classic last season with a 908 (+44). Senior Kyle Spencer led the Falcons on the final day of the Ping Cougar Classic at the Riverside Golf Club in Provo, Utah. Spencer shot 224 over 54 holes, followed by Jonathan Farmer shot 231, Colter Baca shot 234 and Luke Trujillo shot 236.
RECENTLY: The Air Force golf team placed 13th at the Stitch Invitational, hosted by North Carolina State, Saturday, April 9, at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C. Duke won the tournament with an 891. No. 14 Notre Dame and No. 25 NC State tied for second at 864. Air Force shot a 983. Junior Isaac Layne was the top Falcon, shooting 240 over 54 holes. Sophomore Aaron Kuznik came in at 247, followed by freshman Cameron Kahle (248), senior Colter Baca (253) and senior Jonathan Farmer (258). Sophomore Max Heupel competed as an individual and shot 252.
NEXT UP: Following the Ping Cougar Classic, the spring season concludes with the Mountain West Championships, April 29-May 1, in Bremerton, Wash.
