Hurley-Rockett earn medals at Junior Olympics

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Two members of the Air Force rifle team earned medals at the USA Shooting Junior Olympic Rifle National Championships, hosted by Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich. With three medalists at the event, the Falcons posted their best showing in school history.

Freshman Scott Rockett, the NCAA air rifle champion, earned the gold in men's air rifle with a score of 251.5 in the finals. Freshman Lauren Hurley earned a pair of silver medals in women's smallbore (454.2) and women's air rifle (246.9). Rockett is already a member of the Junior National Team while Hurley's performance put her on the U.S. Futures Team.

Rockett also placed fourth in men's smallbore (436.5) while teammate Dante Aletto placed 10^th and Carelton Liden placed 35^th. Aletto also placed 36^th in air rifle.

In women's smallbore, Morgan Kreb qualified for the final and placed fifth (420.9). In air rifle, Peninah D'Souza qualified for the finals and placed seventh with a score of 140.2. D'Souza also placed 20^th in smallbore.
