Falcons open Mountain West schedule with draw

SAN JOSE, Calif.- The first match of the Falcons tour through California to begin Mountain West play began with a scoreless draw, as neither Air Force nor San Jose State was able to manage a goal.
"I thought a draw was a fair result based on how we played tonight," said head coach Laura Busby. "We are going to have to take better care of the ball if want to put ourselves in a position to win games in the Mountain West."
Sydney Davis made her fourth-consecutive start in goal for Air Force, stopping all four shots on goal she faced. The junior has now denied 14 of 15 shots faced this season.
Andrea Mosher recorded Air Force's lone shot on goal in the 64th minute. Faith Lee, Hannah Johnson, Jenna Rubidoux, and Jordi Ives also made attempts at goal.
Lee, Kayla Milford, and Stella Rubidoux saw all 90 minutes of action on the pitch. Rubidoux remains the only Falcon to play all 720 minutes of available time this season.
"I'm glad we picked up a point on the road, but I'm hoping for a much better performance against Fresno State on Sunday," said Busby.
Air Force will indeed remain in California, traveling westward to play the Bulldogs on Sunday, September 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm MT.
