Air Force Rolls To 6-1 Win Over ETSU

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis rolled to a 6-1 win over East Tennessee State Saturday night at the Indoor Tennis Courts. The Falcons improved to 3-0 on the season with the win.

Air Force opened with the doubles point and then won three of the first four singles matches to clinch the win early.

The Falcons won two of three in doubles to score the point. The No. 3 duo of Phillip Deaton and Kyle Garner defeated Lamas/Cressoni 6-3. After a setback at No. 2, the duo Nick Vroman and Justin Waldman won at No. 1 over Badra/Nagoudi 7-5 to clinch the doubles points.

In singles, the Falcons went 5-1. Waldman opened singles by winning at No. 3 over Adam Nagoudi 6-0, 6-4. ETSU then won at No. 1. Jonathan Mascagni then won at No. 4 over Pedro Cressoni 2-6, 6-1, 7-5. Arjun Kersten then won at No. 2 over Thiago Pernas 6-7 (2-7), 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the match.

The Falcons went on to win at No. 5 and 6 singles. Deaton won at No. 5 over Lucas Britez 7-5, 6-2. Jack Brown won at No. 6 over Francisco Britez 7-5, 6-2.

Air Force returns to action Sunday, Jan. 29, hosting Abilene Christian. The match begins at 10 am MT.
