Air Force drops match to New Mexico
10/1/2023 4:28:00 PM | Women's Soccer
Air Force was the first to find the back of the net, as Katie Wotta created separation along the near side of the field. Using her speed, Wotta managed to create a precise passing lane just in front of goal, where Addie Doyle tucked away her second score of the season.
Doyle is now one of four Falcons with at least two goals, while the assist becomes Wotta's first-career collegiate point.
The Falcons were the aggressors in the match's first 45 minutes, creating 11 shots attempts to just five for the Lobos.
However, Air Force attempted just two shots in the second half compared to New Mexico's 6 tries. Coach Busby's squad did not attempt a corner kick over the concluding 45 minutes.
The Lobos would eventually equalize the match in the 70th minute before taking the lead on an impressive free kick goal six minutes later.
Air Force managed just one shot on goal in the second half. The Falcons are now 4-13-1 all-time at New Mexico.
Next, the Falcons will return to Colorado Springs to host UNLV on Thursday, October 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm MT.
