
Falcons fire best score of season at Shocker Invite

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force golf team fired its best team score of the season at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational, Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas.
Air Force's 886 three-round score is the best of the season. Air Force's first round score of 294 was the team's season best, before a 291 in the second round.
Junior Cameron Kahle made four birdies in the final round for a season-best 71. Kahle finished as the top Falcon over 54 holes with a 218 (+2). Freshman Eli Huntington shot his best collegiate tournament with a 220 (+4). Sophomore Alvaro Fonseca shot a 223, followed by freshman Alex Lynch (225) and freshman Carson Baker (237). Sophomore Eric Liveringhouse, competing as an individual, shot a 227.
Wichita State and Seton Hall tied for the team title with an 844. Rice was third at 847. Air Force placed 14th at 886.
The Falcons are back in action at the Ka'anapali Collegiate, Oct. 26-28, in Lahaina, Hawaii.
Stephens Cup
Senior Aaron Kuznik concluded competition in the third annual Stephens Cup, Oct. 10, at the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas. Kuznik shot a 233 over the 54-hole tournament.
The tournament is named in honor of Jack Stephens, the former chairman of the Augusta National Golf Club. The Stephens Cup brings together the nation's top collegiate golfers. This year's field will again feature seven NCAA Division 1 men's and women's teams, as well as leading players from the service academies and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) competing as individuals.
