Falcons Kick Off Week at New Mexico on Tuesday

The Air Force volleyball team wraps up the first half of its conference schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 17, when it faces travel partner New Mexico in Albuquerque, before opening the back end of league play hosting San Jose State at the Academy on Saturday, Oct. 21.
MATCH INFORMATION
Air Force and New Mexico will face off at 6:00 p.m. (MT) during the Mountain West's Tuesday Night Block Party on the MW Network, while Saturday's 1:00 p.m. (MT) contest at the Academy will also be broadcast live on the MWN, with FalconVision's Brian Jerman and Matt McShane on the call for Saturday's contest at the Academy. SCOUTING THE LOBOS
New Mexico is 5-3 in the conference (13-6 overall) after splitting a weekend against Wyoming (3-1 win) and Colorado State (0-3 loss). The Lobos lead the Mountain West in digs (15.61 dps) and are ranked second in opponent hitting (.177) and blocks (2.68 bps). Individually, Elizabeth Woods is averaging 1.41 blocks per set to rank second in the league.

San Jose State, who will host New Mexico on Thursday before traveling to the Academy, enters with a 11-10 overall record and a 2-6 mark in conference play. The Spartans are ranked among the conference's top five in team digs (183.15 dps, fifth), while Letizia Cammillucci (3.63 kills, fifth), Jiana Lawson (1.19 blocks, fourth) and Alessia Buffagni (3.70 digs, fifth) are ranked among the league's top five.

New Mexico holds a 43-7 advantage over Air Force in the all-time series, with two of the Falcons' victories coming in Albuquerque (2003 at Johnson Gym; 2019 at The Pit). San Jose State is 16-6 all-time against Air Force, although the Falcons have won two of the last three meetings at Cadet East Gym, including a sweep of the Spartans last season.

Joi Harvey leads the Mountain West in hitting (.465) after four weeks of conference play, while also holding top-10 rankings in kills (3.20 kps, 10th) and points (3.90 pps, eighth). Air Force, which is ranked fourth in team hitting (.239), boasts two of the three most accurate attackers in the league, with Mac Russ ranked third with a .340 average.
