Christie Nets 200th Career Assist As (RV) Air Force Takes Down (RV) Bucknell, 12-8

(RV) Air Force (16-10 overall, 1-0 WCC) defeated (RV) Bucknell (10-13), 14-1, in day three action Sunday at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament, played at the SRAC Pool on the campus of San Jose State in San Jose, Calif. The Falcons complete the tournament with a 2-1 record.

Air Force came out strong early, building a 3-2 lead after the first quarter. The Falcons extended their lead to three at halftime, outscoring the Bison 6-4 in the second to lead 9-6 at the half. Bucknell pulled to within two goals with a 5-4 advantage in the third quarter, but the Falcons pulled away with a 3-1 advantage in the fourth.

Freshman Tom Leggett led the Falcons with seven goals scored. Leggett notched 20 goals on the weekend and now has 109 points on the season, which ranks seventh most in a season at Air Force. His 83 goals on the season are fourth-most in a season.

Senior Ian Christie added six points, including a season-high five assists. Christie now has a school-record 201 assists, becoming the first-ever Falcon to surpass the 200 career assist mark.

Junior Kaito Ham scored a career-high four goals, to go with five points. Freshman Jack Richards tallied two goals, an assist and three steals.

Junior Liam Markus had 11 saves in goal for the win.

The win avenged an 13-8 loss to Bucknell in September.

Air Force returns to action next weekend with a pair of WCC games in the greater Los Angeles area. The Falcons travel to Loyola Marymount on Friday, Oct. 27 and Pepperdine on Sunday, Oct. 29.
