Air Force Wraps Up Second Round of Friday Night Fights

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force boxing team hosted an 11-bout card this afternoon (Oct. 6) during its second Friday Night Fights event of the season.
The lightest and heaviest fights of the night were determined by split decisions, as sophomore Duong Tran defeated classmate Brandon Son in a 137-pound bout and freshman Justin Bonilla earned the win over fellow first-year boxer Isaac Kreft at 205 pounds. Sophomore Dominic Feliz's 142-pound win over freshman Sebastyan Correa Rios was also down to a split decision.
In other results, sophomore Luke Phillips earned a decision over freshman Curtis Jett in the 150-pound contest, while freshman Noah Gilley defeated classmate Kevin Krumbine by decision at 156 pounds. Sophomore Jaxon Wardle earned a 166-pound decision over freshman Joey Bevivino, while freshman Ellison Taylor and sophomore Nick Post earned decisional wins at 185 pounds (freshman Liam Cochran) and 188 pounds (sophomore Dylan Barrios), respectively.
On the women's side, sophomore Alejandra Tirado-Elias earned a referee-stopped victory over junior Cass Rosa in a 137-pound contest, while freshmen Katie Beavis and Julianna Morris earned decisions in their bouts, as Beavis defeated sophomore Emma Teo at 138 points and Morris earned the judges' vote over classmate Ella Bryars at 140 pounds.
The Falcons return to action on Oct. 20, when they head to Annapolis, Md., for their annual showdown against service academy rival Navy.
